Reviews for La Botega Del Gusto
Review highlights
Based on 194 reviewsLa Botega Del Gusto is widely appreciated for its authentic Genovese cuisine served in a casual, no-frills setting. Customers frequently highlight the quality and flavor of the dishes, especially the seafood and roasted options, which are noted for their balanced seasoning and freshness. The modest presentation—using cafeteria-style trays and disposable cutlery—contrasts with the high standard of the food, offering good value for money. The friendly and attentive service, often personalized by the multilingual owner-chef, enhances the overall dining experience. The charming outdoor courtyard setting adds to the appeal, making it a favored spot for a relaxed lunch break in the heart of Genoa.
Excellent little lunch spot on a small piazza. The squid salad was delicious, especially with added lemon. The patate al forno were cooked well, almost sweet from being roasted to perfection and seasoned properly — suggest ordering one of the meat dishes as they come with. Helpful and kind staff.
Good food, simply presented (plastic plates and cutlery served on a tray you pick up at the counter), but tasty and very reasonably priced.
Amazing Genovese food from a very friendly owner and chef. He will take the time to explain everything dish ingredients. He speaks English and Spanish too! Great option for a lunch break!
The cafeteria trays and plastic cutlery may throw you off, but the fabulous food is the star here, and the courtyard you eat it in, surrounded by the walls of famous villas lining nearby V. Garibaldi.
Maybe the nicest shopkeeper (owner?) I've seen in Europe. Patiently described every dish in English, apologizing often for the fact they were out of some things (we were there on the late side, about 2:30 pm). Food was great, quick, and cheap!
Very nice place, mostly local people here, but the food is tasty and at good price, staffs are not good at English but very kind and welcoming, highly recommended
